Mam premium vpn od windscribe które po 8 godzinach walki z routerem skonfigurowałem pod openvpn na wiekowym routerze tplink wr842nd v1 z zainstalowanym openwrt.

Próbowałem 2 różne konfingi z dwoma różnymi serwerami i router max co wyciąga na download i upload zarówno na wifi oraz po kablu to 6 - 7Mbps, gdzie speedtest bez włączonego vpn w ustawieniach routera osiągaja po 45 - 47 Mbps downloadu, czyli max mojego łącza.

Czy jest to spowodowane limitem routera? Czytałem że korzystanie z vpn na routerze potrafi znacznie obciążyć cpu, ale podczas włączonego vpn i speedtestu, w logach procek praktycznie odpoczywa...

Zarówno na szyfrowaniu aes-cbc jak i aes-gcm transfery są słabe. Myślisz że TCP było by lepsze aniżeli UDP?

Jak wyłączyć kompresję? Nie jestem aż tak obeznany w tych sprawach.

Niestety ale wireguard nie jest wspierany przez windscribe. Chyba że jest jakiś specjalny sposób konfiguracji?

W sumie to vpna zacząłem stawiać specjalnie ze względu na to że dziewczynie zachciało się Netflixa w TV. Więc kupiłem roczną subskrypcję, a że router od ponad roku działa nieprzerwanie to stwierdziłem że czemu by nie spróbować dograć openvpna, no i tu zaczęła się zabawa.

A tak z innej beczki to co sądzisz o xiaomi router? W sumie to u rodziców mam od daaawna xiaomi router r3 (bez portów giga), i mimo tego że jak go kupiłem to nie było żadnego openwrt to jestem zadowolony. Myślisz że xiaomi router 4 styknie jako inwestycja na kolejne lata czy lepiej zainwestować w sprawdzony r3g?

Sam mam dwa R3G, co bym nie cudował, to problemu nie mam z nimi. Na jednym z gargoyle pracuje openvpn, wireguard, adguard.  Sprzętów o zbliżonej wydajności jest więcej za nieduże pieniądze, a dlatego radzę nową inwestycję,  że sam z doświadczenia wiem, że zawsze kiedy zwlekałem, to jak już się zdecydowałem, to pierwsza myśl była "dlaczego tak późno".

A moja szuflada też nie taka skromna, leży w piwnicy już WNDR4300, WDR3600, B525, NETGEAR810s, teraz mam dwa MIR3G, a w drodze do mnie AX3600.

I chyba na r3p się zdecyduje, bo widzę że najnowszy xiaomi 4 jak i 4a ma o wiele mniej ramu niż sprawdzony r3p.

Pozwolę sobie odświeżyć temat, ponieważ zmagam się z problemem utworzenia połączenia na nowo zakupionym r3g. W pierwszym poście opisałem sposób połączenia na openwrt, aczkolwiek w chwili obecnej chciałbym z tego rozwiązania korzystać na Gargoyle.

W confingu gui znajdują się 4 pozycje do wypełnienia: CA Certificate, Client Certificate, Client Key oraz TLS-Auth Key. O ile windscribe udostępnia CA certificate oraz tls auth key, o tyle dwóch pozostałych pozycji znaleźć od dostawcy vpna nie mogę.
Podczas próby zapisania konfiguracji bez tych danych wyskakuje błąd "Could not find config file".

Tutaj znalazłem jakąś odpowiedź w tej kwestii:

ale nie jestem pewien czy w chwili obecnej rozwiązanie napisane przez użytkownika encro ma sens, zwłaszcza że temat dotyczy innego dostawcy niż windscribe z którego ja korzystam.
Poza tym, czy to co napisał encro:
"Despite the TLS standard stating that a client key isn't required Gargoyle won't unfortunately let you bypass it." to prawda? Może istnieje już jakiś sposób obejścia tego?

Natknąłem się też na temat opisujący manualny sposób konfiguracji openvpn:

jednak podczas próby jego wykonania, w momencie wpisania "uci set openvpn.custom_config=openvpn" pojawił się error uci entry not found... A wpisując samo uci set pojawił się cały opis uci, więc zgłupiałem i odpuściłem temat manualnej konfiguracji.

Gui OpenVPN w gargoyle oparte jest na certyfikatach i wspiera tylko taką formę. Wszystko inne - nie zrobisz tego z gui. Jeżeli masz więc inną konfigurację to odinstaluj plugin openvpn z gui, odinstaluj openvpn i zainstaluj openvpn z repo openwrt (koniecznie! openvpn z gagroyle m swoje skrypty) i normalnie konfiguruj ręcznie jak w zwykłym openwrt.
Ograniczeń gui nie przeskoczysz w żaden sposób.

Jestem zmuszony kontynuować temat, ponieważ nie wszystko działa tak jak bym oczekiwał. Dodatkowo nie do końca rozumiem temat...

Po zrobieniu speedtestu na openvpn okazało się że xiaomi router 3g wyciąga max 15 mb downloadu i uploadu. Spodziewałem się o wiele większej prędkości.

Okazało się również że windscribe jakiś miesiąc temu zaczął w końcu wspierać wireguard, o czym dowiedziałem się przypadkowo, dlatego też zrezygnowałem z openvpn na rzecz wireguard. Zainstalowałem na routerze testowy obraz gargoyle 1.13 który ma wbudowane wygodne GUI z wireguard za co jestem niezmiernie wdzięczny smile No i czegoś właśnie nie rozumiem...

O ile openvpn osiągał te 15mb, to wygodą był fakt że po podłączeniu się do routera przez WiFi cały ruch przechodził przez vpn od windscribe - czyli wszystkie urządzenia smart typu kamery czy odkurzacze xiaomi jakie posiadam, jak i telefony i komputery były pod ochroną vpn na czym mi właśnie zależy.
Jednak z tego co widzę, wireguard- dla przykładu na telefonie- wymusza na mnie instalacje aplikacji oraz jej skonfigurowanie tak aby łączyła się z moim routerem, bo w przeciwnym razie na telefonie nie ma internetu. Nawet teraz, po poprawnej (tak mi się wydaje) konfiguracji, telefon twierdzi że nie ma internetu, gdzie w rzeczywistości jest - ale to w sumie mały szczegół.

Myślałem że pomysł posiadania vpn-a na routerze zwolni mnie z obowiązku instalacji aplikacji na wszystkich urządzeniach w domu tylko w celu bezpiecznego łączenia się z siecią. Równie dobrze na każdym kompie i telefonie mógłbym zainstalować aplikacje windscribe i z niej korzystać bez kombinacji z wireguard... A co z odkurzaczem czy kamerą? Na nich nie ma przecież aplikacji gdzie mogę zainstalować apke wireguard...

W związku z tym, czy da się ustawić wszystko tak, aby cały wireguard działał sobie na routerze z ustawieniami vpn-a bez potrzeby instalacji i konfiguracji aplikacji na wszystkich urządzeniach jakie mam w domu?

No tak, tak samo jak przy openvpn. Nie wiem po co instalujesz na telefonie klienta wireguard jak to właśnie router ma robić za klienta, identycznie jak to robił przy openvpn. Tak jak myślałeś że ma to działać.

mam wrażenie że chyba   , albo jak czegoś nie rozumie , albo  @misiek735 nie za bardzo rozumie jak to działa .  Moim zdaniem  server powinien byc postawiony na routerze  ,skonfigurowany tak by byl dostep do lanu   - wtedy  łacząc sie z klienta na telefonie mamy dostep  do wszystkich urzadzen w sieci   np do kamer   łaczac sie bezpiecznym tunelem .  W przypadku płatenego servera  i tak ruch przechodzi przez zdalny serwer  co ograniacza bezpieczenstwo  to raz  a dwa i tak  musimy miec   apke do vireguard by dostac sie do servera  bo jak inaczej ?

W takim razie coś jest nie tak. Pobieram konfiguracje dla wireguard z oficjalnej strony windscribe i w gui wybieram załadowanie pliku z tą konfiguracją. Wszystko wygląda tak jak na załączonym screenshocie, i z chwilą wejścia online żadne z połączonych urządzeń do routera nie ma internetu. Oczywiście tam gdzie jest aaaa czy bbbb to jest wygenerowany i prawidłowo postawiony ciąg znaków i liczb, jedynie tylko na potrzeby prywatności wyedytowałem dane na screenshocie bo nie wiem co można, a czego lepiej nie udostępniać.

Sprawdź czy w ogóle pinguje się np. 8.8.8.8, adres dns oraz endpoint który masz tam podany w konfigu.

To dość prosta konfiguracja, więc nie ma zbytnio co tu zepsuć.

Niestety nic nie pinguje.

Zalogowałem się przez ssh do routera, i wpisałem najpierw ping 8.8.8.8 = zero odpowiedzi. To samo z adresem dns oraz z Endpoint.
Jedynie co pinguje to IP które jest na obrazku na zielono jako "online, IP:".

Załączam logi routera. Najpierw włączyłem wireguard tak aby wczytał konfigurację i aby był status online, potem tylko uruchomiłem ponownie router, tak aby sam krok po kroku wykonał całą procedurę bootowania oraz wczytywania confingu wireguard. Wtedy skopiowałem log który udostępniam.

Raczej wg show pokąz. Ale jak ci się endpoint nie pinguje to jest raczej źle. Sprawdzałeś tą samą konfigurację np. na telefonie czy windowsie czy działa?

Masz niepotrzebny router, uszkodzony czy nie - chętnie przygarnę go.

Na windowsie działa. Wczytałem ten sam config co na routerze, i wszystko jest ok, tzn. po wpisaniu "my ip" w google widzę ip które pokrywa się z tym z programu wireguard.
