Szkoda, to było jedno z najciekawszych forów internetowych w Polsce. Dziwie się tylko, że właściciele nie ogłosili swoich zamiarów na łamach forum - natychmiast interweniowałbym z propozycją wykupu.

W kwestii mocy na radiu 5GHz to LuCI zgłasza aktualnie 10dBm ale chyba to się mija z prawdą - realny zasięg jest wyższy niż wskazywałaby na to moc w granicach błędu pomiarowego.

Trudno powiedzieć ale chyba nie. Nie działa jak ustawiam SSID poprzez LuCI natomiast po ręcznej edycji /etc/config/wireless i wydaniu polecenia "wifi" zaczęło działać wink

W moim przypadku to właśnie 11dBm.

Pytanie co może blokować rozgłaszanie SSIDu z minusem w nazwie... Drugie radio rozgłaszające bliźniaczo podobny SSID (tj. również stworzony podług klucza "nazwa-ssid") włącza się w zasadzie prawidłowo (z wyłączeniem absurdalnie niskiego ograniczenia mocy).

Czyli pozostaje mi wypróbować inny interfejs radiowy smile dzięki za informację!

Przy domyślnych ustawieniach i SSID ustawionym dosłownie na "CENZURA" radio się uruchomiło. Udało się nawet przywrócić moje ustawienia dotyczące 802.11r i DTIM, a konfiguracja przetrwała restart urządzenia. Niestety po zmianie SSID na docelowy (w formacie "nazwa-ssid") radio znów nie działa poprawnie (nawet jeśli reszta ustawień jest domyślna).

Jako ciekawostkę dodam, że inne routery na platformie mt76 bez problemu nadają SSID z minusem w środku nazwy.

to nie śmieci tylko celowa konfiguracja - kolejno remedium na niedopracowaną obsługę sieci Wi-Fi w produktach Apple (DTIM wyższy niż 3 zapobiega łączeniu i rozłączaniu się co chwilę) i aktywacja roamingu 802.11r zgodnie z pozostałymi APkami w mojej sieci. Oczywiście działa prawidłowo na pozostałych urządzeniach (zarówno mt76 jak i x86).

Prawdopodobnie tak się skończy. Jak znajdę (bo winienem mieć jeszcze kilka) to spróbuję jeszcze z innym interfejsem radiowym.

Swoją drogą: pod kontrolą MikroTik RouterOS osiągi po Wi-Fi były całkiem dobre ale stabilność niestety bardzo przeciętna.

Posiadam PC Engines WRAP 2C z zamontowaną kartą Wi-Fi produkcji TP-Link model TL-WN360G. Sprzęt pracuje pod kontrolą OpenWrt 19.07.8 (czysty obraz dysku ext4 z openwrt.org) zainstalowanego na 1GB karcie SLC Compact Flash. System został skonfigurowany jako tzw. głupi AP (jedyny interfejs przewodowy i jedyny bezprzewodowy są w jednym bridge'u, a firewall został skonfigurowany tak aby przepuszczać dowolny ruch w dowolnym kierunku). Choć podług testów wykonanych z użyciem iperf3 interfejs przewodowy pozwala na przesył około 60Mbit/s to po Wi-Fi udaje się osiągnąć transfery jedynie 4Mbit/s w przypadku odbioru i 15Mbit/s w przypadku wysyłania danych. Wyeliminowałem problem po stronie urządzenia klienckiego (iPhone 5s) ponieważ inne urządzenia (OnePlus 8 oraz OnePlus N100) osiągają identyczne transfery.

Co może być przyczyną takiego spowolnienia? Jako ciekawostkę wspomnę, że ta sama karta Wi-Fi w innym sprzęcie produkcji PC Engines (ALIX 2D2) pracującym pod kontrolą OpenWrt 19.07.3 pozwalała osiągnąć w zasadzie maksimum możliwości 802.11g czyli około 30-35Mbit/s.

Jeśli istotna jest architektura amd64, a nie tylko 32-bit x86 to najtaniej wyjdzie Fujitsu Futro S900 z popularnego portalu aukcyjnego. Jeśli pamięć mnie nie myli to można było upolować na polskim rynku również podobne terminale z procesorem w architekturze amd64 produkcji HP i Dell.

System rozpoznaje radio jako "Generic 802.11bgn", a jakakolwiek zmiana w ustawieniach tego interfejsu przenosi go w stan nieaktywny z komunikatem "device is not active". Radio w paśmie 5GHz co ciekawe działa ale z bardzo ograniczoną mocą (maksymalnie 10dBm).
