Hello

I have a Three (UK) branded MF286D and with the help of this forum, recently changed the router firmware to Nordic B12 (by reflashing mtd8 and mtd9).

The modem firmware is still original BD_MF286DMODULEV1.0.0B03 as supplied by Three (UK).  Now I am not sure whether I can go from the current version to TELIA using adb to install the delta upgrades.  I read on the Italian Fibra Forum that this will not work.  What should I do?

The other question is whether it is worth upgrading the modem at all, is there some info on what has been changed between versions?

Also, we have Band 32 in the UK, which is supported by the modem.  I don't want to lose Band 32 by changing modem firmware to Nordic.  I understand that Band 32 is used in UK, Germany and Italy only, so maybe it is not included in the Nordic modem firmware.  How can I find out?

@Mig25, thanks.  Just checked again and now have the correct password.  It is "admin_Password" which on my box is the same as "web_password2" both need base64 decoding.

A while ago I changed my MF286D (Three UK branded) from stock to OpenWRT, that all worked fine, thanks to the excellent descriptions in this forum.

Now, I wanted to go back to ZTE firmware (because I need bridge mode), preferably NORDIC and have tried to flash various images.  The most recent one I flashed was the mtd8 and mtd9 from here https://dl.eko.one.pl/orig/zte_mf286d/NORDIC/B12/

I believe that I now have the NORDIC version since the web login page allows language selection English/Swedish/Finnish etc.  (this was not present in the Three FW).  However, I can't log in.  I tried various passwords I could get out of "nv show" but no luck.

How do I get the web gui password or how can I reset it?

Because the output at the beginning was fine, the serial link should be OK. Why is the output corrupted?

Hello again

I wired up the serial port (RxD, TxD and GND only) and using putty I get some output from the router with 115200 8/1/N but I get some weird characters, so most text is not readable.  I tried no flow control and also XON/XOFF, same problem.

Any ideas what I need to change?

apologies for posting in English, I don't speak Polish but Google Translate has been helping me to read through this thread. 

I have bought a MF286D (Three UK branded but unlocked), the firmware supplied has only a limited web UI and no features like Band select etc.

I have opened the box and identified the serial I/O pins  (X8), but I am not sure which pin is GND, 3V3, RxD, TxD.  I hope you can help?

Also, what is the login user name (admin, root?) and password?
Or the same as the password for the web UI?
