VID/PID looks like an AT1, please use double ‘ instead of “, otherwise command is not sent

Do also a:

dmesg | grep QCA
dmesg | grep IPQ

Thx

... i od razu cat sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices
Po tym też można próbować rozróżniać  wersje

But the serial number is equal for all version, may be we just distinguish them with VID/PID for T1/T2 revision smile

Cool… we should found ZTE framework for this modem…

Do you have framework for this version?

No, I’m trying to find it…

I should try to see if modem module can be flashed using “dd” dump, so we can upgrade to latest version available

@smereka can you check the version of the modem?

On stock firmare run:

cat /dev/ttyUSB2 &
echo -e “ATI\r” > /dev/ttyUSB2

Thx smile

stich, or what is this version with problematic wifi at 80MHz or the correct one?

Fixed
I’ve put correct board data for AT2 smile

Calibration of ath10k is a bit like walking in the darkness, because it is result of data from board-2.bin, pre-cal data on flash AND OTP data per unit, with no decoder of board files into plaintext. Both are essentially key-value stores. atheepmgr shows very little data about ath10k due to this.

Still, I would not worry about the power as much, the fact that board-2.bin is extracted from right firmware is more important, and PR on Github needs to be updated.

understood..
i've update the PR changing also the ipq-wifi package to add custom board-2.bin, till ath10k is updated

here you have a guide to open it (sorry for Italian):

And low power also compared to MF286D?

looks like also MF286D has same power behaviour.

(1,110 odpowiedzi, napisanych Sprzęt / Hardware)

Ok you were right Leo-PL.

I did the board-2.bin using 5G boardData from my dump (AT1). Looks like that this file differ from an AT2 version.

New version with correct board data reach same speed of MF286D

But the power seems low compared to stock OFW..

Leo-PL napisał/a:

Yeah, VHT-NSS 1, so single spatial stream is used. Strange, to say the least. Isn't this caused by mixed-up contents for board-2.bin extracted from AT1 vs AT2? I'd re-do the extraction or slap in the data from MF286D to see if it helps - of course just to confirm the suspicion.

ATM two tests was done:

- board-2.bin using extracted data from VFIT rom (I’ll try to create it from VFDE/Rev AT2)
- board-2.bin stock, so it’s using “random” board-id=21 (not sure the one from MF286D)

On both tests VHT-NSS was 1

I’ll try later and let you know

this is a binding on AT2 version shown on LuCI, as you can see it's 433mbit/s@80mhz

Simplest way is that 433Mbps is for Channel 40Mhz ,and 866Mbps is 80Mhz.
What kind of wideband show WiFiAnalizer (apk on android)?

Yes I know, but fix it at 80Mh, near to the router the connection speed is reported as 433Mbit/s sad

any suggestion for debug 5Ghz (IPQ4019) issue?
Looks like that on MF289F the WiFi is worse compared to MF286D (that is using same chip).

For instance a client on MF289F (using board-2.bin created by stock boardData) gives only max 433Mbit/s (near the router), while on MF286D same client can go up to 866Mbit/s.

May be i've missed something...

AT1 with QCA9984 has no problem

thanks!

@4IceG do you know why the app for connection monitor doesn't give +x permission to file lite_watchdog*/lite-watchdog*?

Hi @stich86,
I have already corrected the package and it should be OK.

As for changing the settings in the packages, before compiling, create a folder /files/etc/config and put the modified settings files for the packages there.

You can get the settings files by creating a backup archive. After extracting the archive you have a folder "etc" and from there you copy the files you are interested in.

Hi 4IceG,

I can confirm that now watchdog-lite is working.
Regarding /files/etc/config should be put into openwrt root folder where I run the make?

thx

here is new build:

https://mega.nz/folder/u4whXLYJ#21cWTZELti69USXLIiAezQ

as usual you need to change ttyUSB0 to 1 on all 4IceG package and for "Connection Monitor" it's necessary to give executable permitiont to the binary file under /usr/bin with:

chmod +x lite_*
chmod +x lite-*

@4IceG do you know why the app for connection monitor doesn't give +x permission to file lite_watchdog*/lite-watchdog*?

Also.. how to force ttyUSB to USB1 on your package? So I can avoid each time to manually modify...

Thx smile

Did you made some new builds with you can share ?

REMOVED - there is a problem with connection monitor from 4IceG and switch report is still wrong. I’ll try to build new one foe this evening and share it for test

new build with all fixed suggested by Leo-PL (let me know if the switch is correctly displayed now)

- price (? twice as mf286d)

Dutch version has higher price for b20 aggregation… but now with the unlock of b20 on Italian version price should decrease (I hope..)

There are three major changes on this router:

- from factor
- 5Ghz WiFi (QCA9984 MiMO 4x4 if you got AT1 rev)
- 4CA SDX24 modem (possibility of 5CA still under investigation)

Switch is the same of MF286D, you lose 2 ports

@stich86 , what about switch ? It i only a case to correct it in config/network , o there is a configuration in DTS ? since now there are 4 LAN ports instead 2.

I’ve to take a look on it

czyli np

AT+ZNLOCKBAND=1,0,45,0

ustawi B1+B3+B7

B20 is pruned from the combo on VFIT, but removing 4 files in the EFS partition unlock also the Italian variant smile

We are working to see if the modem can do 5CA
