anyone was able to find a ZTE Framework for this device?
ULCA is enabled by default on this module, and there is no command to see the status
If you want to dig it more, enable rem_serial and use AirScreen ![]()
The official backport to 22.03 is in the works.
If anyone can help me how to swap LAN/WAN on legacy PR will be very easy ![]()
On modem there are standard U.FL/IPX/IPEX (2mm) , then you need 5 pigtails.
Two of them should be joined to maintain MIMO 4x4
ANT4 = MIMO_1
ANT1 = MAIN_HB
ANT0 = MAIN_MLB
ANT2 = AUX
ANT3 = MIMO_0
ANT0+ANT1 should be connect together to a single antenna to have MINO 4x4 (obviously BTS should support)
reboot for sure is not rebooting modem ( so i.e. will not bring connection after sim exchange). At the same time AT+CFUN=1,1 reboting also mf289f...
Also i'm pritty sure , that status- on pcb blue led was blinking during startup ( like on MF286D) , now blinks maybe once or two times and then it is on all the time...
here is a log from boot :

There is an error on DTS, I’ll submit new PR to patch it. The GPIO of internal LED is wrong
That is a question. If you want to keep eth0 to lan1 and eth1 to lan2 then maybe only in config/network (bridge eth1 with lan and make eth0 as WAN )?
yes I know, but we are talking about vallina OpenWRT.
Custom build using config/network can be easly done, like my build.. but on vanilla OpenWRT I need to understand how to do it
exacly , everybody expect , that wan will be WAN/LAN1...
How to solve it?
I’ve to rename eth0 to 1 and viceversa…
@MiG25 wrote: "Lower ,described on cover as LAN2 is in openwrt is wan , so eth1.....", so this is wrong and switched in his model.
Sorry was a typo
eth0/LAN1/LAN on Owrt
eth1/LAN/WAN on Owrt
Submit a patch if ethernet is wrongly assigned.
As I’ve said the mapping was done starting from eth0 (LAN1) and eth1 (LAN)
I know that LAN is also tagged as WAN, but I think using custom build or changing configuration can be fixed without change the interface mapping
Yes , just uploaded todays snapshot.
I remember that in normal configuration eth0 is bridged with LAN and eth1 is WAN, so on this one there is no dhcp server.
Mapping was done using LAN as prefix, so eth0 is lan0 (but wan on stock ofw if you change the modem) and eth1 wan on OpenWRT
Custom build use both eth0/1 as br0 and wan is the LTE card.
Nazwa to najmniejszy problem
Wgrałem , połączyłem z netem przez kabel , i na razie działa
Cięgle zamienione są porty , WAN jest dolny , powinien by górny. ( a tylko na górnym laptop dostaje adres).
Are you talking about snapshot build?
I’m very confused…
I was thinking that PR should be approved and merged…
Router został dodany do repo openwrt.
Where? PR is still opened..
stich86 napisał/a:smereka napisał/a:stich86 any news regarding the support of this equipment? You may need to test something - help somehow?
ATM no, i'm wainting the OpenWRT mantainer accept the PR
Yes, but independent test and a "Tested-by:" on Github is a clear sign to the maintainer, that it works, and will speed up merging.
Yes I know, but except for my last build I don’t have anything else to test/update because I think everything should be completed.
Do you think that I can share my test build (or repo) in the PR to get more “Tested-by:” ?
Thx ![]()
stich86 any news regarding the support of this equipment? You may need to test something - help somehow?
ATM no, i'm wainting the OpenWRT mantainer accept the PR
@MiG25
in meantime i've tested 5Ghz on QCA9984, there is same issue like IPQ4019
So may be ZTE on this board has restricted high channel throughput
Becouse it sounds like ZLOCKBAND on Play operator i.e. on MF286D... (no CA )
but ATM works only on B20.. i never had another successful attempt ![]()
CA is lost on all your availble providers ? I remember you had an issue on MF286D with one operator...
ATM I can only test Vodafone Italy
an update:
Using right /nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/efs/cell_restrict_opt_params file, lock cell is working but CA is lost.
I'm trying to find /nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/efs/cell_lock_list file to see if the CA in this way is working or not..
Fałszywy alarm , już na Play normalnie działa agregacja ( coś musiało być chyba na nadajniku) , i ZLOCKCELL w ogóle na nią nie wpływa...
but on MF286D i presume..
on MF289D ATM the parameter is ignored, only pci_lock file is written on EFS but not loaded, so CA is working as expected
@stich86 , where in EFS is this pci_lock is located ? maybe it is needed to remove it...
The pci_lock file is created by "AT+ZLOCKCELL" command, and it's right. The main problem the file "/nv/item_files/conf/lte_rrc.conf", that should load various nvitems, the "/nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/csp/pci_lock" is not present (while on the MF286D's EFS is inside), and this should esclude the cell locking.
Now you can replace that file, but when modem reboot is back to stock with "pci_lock" entry ![]()
As an alternative (but we have to find the correct hex file) there are these option to lock cell
/nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/efs/cell_lock_list
/nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/efs/cell_lock_list_Subscription01
/nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/efs/cell_restrict_opt_params
/nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/efs/cell_restrict_opt_params_Subscription01
It can then be effectively returned to the original state of affairs? However, I would like these calls to work as it is today
I think that also your modem version has VoIP disabled.
May be here in Italy, Vodafone want user to use VoIP instead of VoLTE, so the module can be configure in either way.
Can you share the output of that script pointed on my last messages? So we can confirm or not.
Thanks ![]()
And also brifly tried ZLOCKCELL .... And for me it not working.... On MF286D when i do it , it was set as primary band , but now not at all:
AT+ZLOCKCELL? +ZLOCKCELL: 1599, 100 AT+ZCAINFO? +ZCAINFO: 262, 20, 59100, 6350, 10.0; 100, 1, 3, 1599, 10.0; 367, 1, 1, 225, 15.0; 118, 1, 7, 3175, 15.0; OKNext case:
AT+ZLOCKCELL? +ZLOCKCELL: 3175, 118 OK AT+ZCAINFO? +ZCAINFO: 262, 20, 59100, 6350, 10.0; 100, 1, 3, 1599, 10.0; 367, 1, 1, 225, 15.0; 118, 1, 7, 3175, 15.0; OK
Yes I doesn’t work. But pci_lock file is created in the EFS, also modem should look at this file. May be there is some other file that disable this feature
Tomorrow now I have no access to router.Could you write me whan exaclty do this script? Interferes with modem firmware?
Yes, based on the variable work type of it’a configured as VoIP it will load Zte VoIP daemon and other kernel module, otherwise Only stuff for CS/VoLTE
VDFDE firmware has dropped this functionality (code is commented into the script) ![]()
What I want to see if altro TMOPL has same configuration
Thx
bad news... looks like VoIP was restricted on VDFDE (and may be also TMOPL) firmware
