Now there is another problem…
I cannot hit full bandwidth using Wi-Fi. Each time I do a speedtest only one single CPU reach 100%

I’ve installed also irqbalance but not a success..

Bravo! I wonder if just rebooting the modem once more by software would make it show correct version, that could be related to its own config postprocessing.

ok also B05->B06 was done smile
A double reboot give me the correct version

an update:

it's only necessary to copy delta.package+delta.signature to /cache on the modem, the AT+FOTACTR=2 will rename it to delta.bin an do all the stuff

Now i'm upgrading from B06 to B08

EDIT: ok now i'm on NORDIC 1.0.0B11 modem, thanks for the file @MiG25 smile

https://i.ibb.co/mFnzGPj/image.png

some tips:

AT+FOTACTR=5 gives the size of the update package into /cache directory
AT+FOTACTR=8 delete the *.flg files, should be done before each update, otherwise the delta package is not processed

I uploaded again ( downloaded directly) . But old one can by open by 7zip on windows...

Yes the problem is on rootFS file (invalid CRC) for the router part, the delta for modem seems good

I’ve sent the upload now I’m out of home, if it’s working I’ll report here the result smile

The last step is how to flash it in fastboot mode, in this way we are completely free from ZTE framework smile

I've done the following steps (need a full powercycle to get new firmware on ATI command):

- copy files delta.package\signature via adb into /cache
- log on the modem using "adb shell", then go on /cache and copy delta.package as delta.bin
- connected to ttyUSB1 and send these command:
AT+FOTACTR=0 <-- if it gives 0,0 the modem see the package
AT+FOTACTR=1 <-- it should gives 1,2, the modem is validating the update package
AT+FOTACTR=2 <-- it start the FOTA process, after finish it will reboot the module

and this is the result:

Model: MF286DMODULE
Revision: BD_TELIAMF286DV1.0.0B05

Here are examples of image.zip files from Telia/ Nordic , are you able to get delta file from them ?

Such files OTA downloading as name image.zip to folder /etc_rw/fota

we should get the URL used by ELISA... only way is to check a real router in action

In image.zip ( OTA file , with is downloading first) there is file delta.package and delta.signature , and i belive that is not only modem ,but also router deltas.  Ar you able from this files ( and generally from image.zip) do a files to be send only to modem ?

modem part is only "delta" file, other files are for the router part.
These files are sent over adb to /cache folder, and AT+FOTACRT commands are issued (with parameter from 1 to 10)

looks like that modem into firmware "TIM to ELISA" is version 1.0.0B03 that support AT+ZULCA command.
I've flashed a modem using SB3.0 successfully.

Now the problem is where to get all DELTA update

Ofcourse it would be great to have such possibility.

But this can be done , if somone really need it , and works. Especially if you are not doing this so often.
OTA can be also replace by inserting a file image.zip to proper directory , then modem detect it as fota...

AFAIK a delta update can be simply put into /cache partition of the modem and it will update on last reboot, the main problem is the first update. ZTE framework will put modem into fastboot and send partitions over network to the modem. All the stuff is done by zte_topsw_dua binary on the modem

If we found how to put modem in this state (and bridge fastboot on OpenWRT without have binary on the router) it will be very easy to swap the system on it.

I would definitely try that - the router behaves more-or-less the same, when it finds image.zip after reboot, it will attempt an update.
@smereka do you have the right deltas for your version? I found ones only from B07 upwards, at least for Nordic.

i've tried to push delta.package\image into /cache on the modem and then run the three AT+FOTACRT command, but still have this error on modem logs:

Yes , first you make any MF286D you have with any soft of modem , give above command in terminal , so the framework thinks that it is TIM fw , and do Elisa (also in modem ) , and then from OTA is making 1.0.1B06 smile

But I don’t want to do all this stuff big_smile

i'm testing the router with OWRT 22.03 (build from eko.one.pl), but cannot reach same speed of stock firmware.
I've test both band combination (B1+B7+B3 or B1+B20+B3). I don't think the problem is the modemd (that is using the same firmware on NORDIC), may be the QMI implementation on OpenWRT..
