Temat: Obsluga Penryn'a na 2.6.24 - aktualizacja kernela

Witam.
Posiadam pięknego Compala JFL92 z C2D T8300 na pokładzie:)
Chciałbym monitorować w nim jak najwięcej parametrów pracy sprzętu, ale ZTCW obsługa pomiarów temperatury dla Penrynów ma dopiero kernel 2.6.25.
Stąd moje pytanie - w jak sposób najprościej zaktualizować mojego obecnego kernela (2.6.24.18) to nowej wersji?
W oficjalnych repozytoriach niestety najnowszy kernel to moj obecny.
Może istnieje po prostu jakiś patch to jądra 2.6.24 dodający obsługę Penrynów?

Próbowałem oczywiście kompilować (sposobem debianowskim) nowe jądro z oficjalnych źródeł z kernel.org, ale ponieważ pod linuksem dopiero raczkuję wszystkie moje próby kończyły się niepowodzeniem. Tzn. sama kompilacja i instalacja przebiegały prawidłowo, nawet GRUB się aktualizował automatycznie, ale system na nowym jądrze nie wstawał. Po menu GRUBa pojawiał się po prostu czarny ekran i koniec. Podejrzewam, że problem leżał z złej konfiguracji jajka. Poza tym z nieznanych dla mnie powodów nowe jajko było ogromne - pakiet deb ze skompilowanym już kernelem zajmował ponad 200 MB...
Niestety, moje guglanie nie przyniosło pozytywnych rezultatów.

Więc taka mała sztuczka - ściągnij sobie kernel-source z repozytorium ubuntu, z taka wersją jak masz aktualne jądro (2.6.24-18). Zrób zmianę w pliku coretemp.c.
Nie kompiluj całości tylko będąc w katalogu ze źródłami zrób  cp /boot/config-`uname -r` .config && make modules. A później poszukaj coretemp.ko i po prostu podmień to co masz w /lib/modules na to. restart - powinno działać.

Masz niepotrzebny router, uszkodzony czy nie - chętnie przygarnę go.

Dodaj sobie coretemp do /etc/modules, będą się ładowały przy starcie systemu.

i2c-i801 i eeprom nie jest Ci zbytnio potrzebne. sensors-detect nie wykrywa nic, bo nie ma chyba w compalach żadnego czujnika podłączonego do magistrali i2c; coretemp czyta temperaturę z czujników z procesora.

Ja też mam ten sam problem. Otóż chciałbym skompilować zoptymalizowane, najnowsze, stabilne  jądro ale nie potrafię tego zrobić.
Więc mam taką prośbę, czy ktoś mógłby zoptymalizować .config i go tutaj zamieścić, wiele osób mogłoby z tego skorzystać.
Najlepiej było by w kompilować wszystkie łatki do FL90+, a w kernelu zostawić tylko absolutnie niezbędne rzeczy a resztę dać jako moduły.

Czysta wanilia 2.6.26.2, czyli bez żadnych łatek. Bez splashy i innych takich. A compal-laptop kompilowany osobno.

Tak, wrzuć to w .config. Zrób poźniej make menuconfig i ustaw co tam chcesz jeszcze.
